I’m going to say something you might not expect.
The best Entrepreneur is you.
Why? Often as human beings, we give credit to other people, we compare ourselves to those who’ve done better than us, who’ve excelled at fighting, mental, financial, and emotional barriers to get to where they are. However, we often lose sight of their journey, because nobody ever talks about the struggle – only the victory.
- Mark Cuban: remembers that when he first moved into their apartment, he didn’t even have his own room. Things were so cramped that he’d come in at night after bartending and have to sleep on the couch or, if that was taken, the floor. He kept his few belongings in a heap.
- Usain Bolt: Did you know he used to come 5th place? Sometimes even worse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FTW_UCj-vM
- Howard Schultz, Starbucks Founder: “I was turned down by 217 of the 242 investors I initially talked to:
- Elon Musk: “My proceeds from the Paypal acquisition were $180 million. I put $100 million in SpaceX, $70 million in Tesla, and $10 million in Solar City. I had to borrow money for rent”
The best Entrepreneur is just someone who is willing to change an ordinary life, by making extraordinary decisions. Any Entrepreneur that really cares about what they do will be a true fighter, they will fight the pain, emotional and financial distress that may come along the way. I personally have experienced a lot of anxiety. However, remember this:
Depression, Anxiety and panic attacks are not signs of weakness. They are signs of trying to remain strong for far too long.
Don’t give credit to someone else for everything you go through to become an Entrepreneur. If you’re still not convinced, maybe you will be after this picture where a man repeated something to himself every day until it eventually became a self-fulfilling prophecy, where his fate was forever sealed in the universe:
